Ausnutria Hyproca realized growth in 2014
Dutch dairy company Ausnutria Hyproca b.v., part of Ausnutria Dairy (HK) Corporation Ltd., realized a strong growth in 2014. The company’s turnover increased from €140 million in 2013 to €184 million in 2014. A growth of 31 percent, which was achieved mainly in the segment of baby and infant nutrition. Result before interest, tax and depreciation (EBITDA) was €11.8 million against €5.0 million in 2013.
“With the dynamics that result from implementing our investment program and the changing circumstances in regulations for infant formula in China, we can be very pleased with this result in 2014”, says Bart van der Meer, CEO of Ausnutria Hyproca. “The profitability has to further increase, step by step, to at least 10 percent of the company’s turnover.”
The equity, per end of 2014, amounted €29.7 million. Including the capital injection of shareholders the guaranteed equity amounts to €59.2 million, 40 percent of the balance sheet total.
The investments in the new infant formula factory are on schedule. It is expected that the factory will be operational before April 2016. The first commercial production will then take place after validation, before the end of the second quarter of 2016.
Bart van der Meer (69), CEO of Ausnutria Hyproca B.V., has announced that he will transfer his operational responsibilities to Denis Opitz (38), in the course of April 2015. Denis Opitz has more than 10 years international experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Denis Opitz is currently Operational Director at Ausnutria Hyproca and in his new role, as CEO of Ausnutria Hyproca, will also become responsible for the overall management of the company.
In addition Koert Liekelema (41) will join the board of Ausnutria Hyproca. Koert Liekelema will focus on strategy, organisation and culture and take the lead in investment (projects). Koert Liekelema was previously employed at DSM and also worked at Fonterra as Managing Director Europe and in New Zealand as Director Sourcing & Trading.
Bart van der Meer will remain CEO of Ausnutria Dairy Corporation Ltd, the holding company listed in Hong Kong. He will also continue to be involved in the construction project in Heerenveen, the Netherlands.
